Eventide Instant Phaser PS-101 Full Recap/Refurb XLR Cables Works & Sounds Great

Here is a rare legendary Eventide Instant Phaser, model PS-101.  This unit has 1 input, 1 Main Output and 1 Aux (alternate phase) output for simulated stereo output. The unit has been recapped, serviced, and thoroughly tested. This unit's is in excellent electronic, mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Eventide was one of the earliest manufacturers in America of time domain processors. The Instant Phaser, built from 1971 until 1977, gave an effect that, while similar to flanging, was unique. Many other manufacturers, especially “stomp box” pedal companies, borrowed the design of the Instant Phaser. But the Instant Phaser offered operation modes that far exceeded most other manufacturers. In addition to the usual modulated phasing, it has an Envelope Follower mode, a Manual mode for dialing in specific fixed sounds, and External control, which was originally designed to take control voltages from early modular synthesizers for creative effects. The PS-101 was used on Led Zeppelin's famous "Kashmir", and on many other hit songs.

This unit has a nice deep analog phase effect that you won't get on a foot pedal or plug in. It has been completely re-capped and tested, and will work well for many years to come.  The front panel and enclosure look very nice. The only cosmetic issue is an area near the remote jack where a mod was removed and some small holes were filled with black plugs. The switches and controls operate well and all the lamps work. 1/4" tip-sleeve cables have been added for the input and outputs. 

Cosmetics are really excellent for a unit of this age. The only flaw is a light scratch near the left rear of the top cover.

A copy of the owner’s manual is included. Please note: this unit is 115 VAC only. For 240 volts, you need to use an external transformer.
